Build a website from your Instagram profile, automatically
You can turn an Instagram profile into a website in four ways: a link-in-bio page, a website builder where you copy your posts in by hand, an Instagram feed embedded in an existing site, or a builder that reads your profile and writes the site for you. Only the last one is automatic. The rest of this guide explains what each option gives a small business, and what to check before you choose.
Why an Instagram profile is not enough on its own
Instagram is where many small businesses are found first, but it is a poor place to be chosen. Prices sit in old stories, hours are not written anywhere, booking happens in direct messages, and Google shows very little of a profile when someone searches for the service and the town.
A website answers the questions people ask before they book: what you offer, for whom, how long it takes, how much it costs, where you are and how to book. It is also what Google and AI assistants such as ChatGPT read when someone asks them for a recommendation.
The four ways to go from Instagram to a website
Each option below starts from the same profile. They differ in how much work you do, and in how much of a real website you end up with.
- Link-in-bio page: a single page of buttons (WhatsApp, booking, highlights). Quick, but it is a list of links rather than a site, and search engines find little on it.
- Website builder, by hand: you choose a template and copy in your photos, services and prices yourself. Full control, but it takes days, and the site goes stale unless you update it.
- Instagram feed embed: a widget that shows your latest posts inside an existing site. Useful if you already have a site; it does not build one.
- Automatic builder: a service reads your public profile (bio, posts, highlights, link page) and writes the whole site: services, photos, before-and-after results, hours, contact and booking. You review it and publish.
How an automatic builder reads your profile
An automatic builder starts from your username. It reads what is public: the bio and its link, the posts and their captions, the highlights, and pages you link to such as a Taplink or Linktree page. From these it works out what you do, which services you offer and what they cost when you have published prices, and which photos show your work.
WIPE (iw.pe) works this way. You type your Instagram username, and within minutes a site appears at yourname.iw.pe: a description of each service, your own photos, before-and-after results, opening hours, a WhatsApp button, booking requests by your real hours, Google reviews and an assistant that answers visitors' questions. You can change anything by tapping it, or by asking the assistant in plain words.
What to check before you choose
Whichever way you go, check these before you commit:
- Language and direction: a Hebrew site must read right to left everywhere, including menus, forms and buttons. Some builders handle this well, some need custom code.
- Booking: can clients request or book a time from your real availability, or only send a message?
- Your own address: is the site at a name of your own, or at a long address of the platform?
- Search: does every page have a title, a description, a sitemap and structured data that Google can read?
- Ownership of your photos and words: can you take them with you if you leave?
- The real monthly cost: building is often free; publishing, your own address and booking are usually what you pay for.
What WIPE costs, plainly
Building and editing a site with WIPE is free and needs no credit card. Publishing it at your own address is a monthly subscription: ₪99 a month at the launch price of a ₪198 plan, kept for as long as the subscription runs. If you cancel within seven days of the first payment, it is refunded in full.
WIPE is made in Israel and written Hebrew-first, for small businesses that work from Instagram and WhatsApp: cosmeticians and beauty clinics at beauty.iw.pe, therapists at care.iw.pe, creators at art.iw.pe, and every other trade at iw.pe.
Questions
Can I build a website from Instagram for free?
Yes. Link-in-bio pages and many builders have free plans, and WIPE builds the whole site from your profile for free. Publishing at your own address is what usually costs money; with WIPE it is ₪99 a month at the launch price.
Does it work if my Instagram is a personal account?
An automatic builder can only read what is public. A public business or creator profile gives it the most to work with: bio, posts, highlights and contact details.
Will my website update when I post on Instagram?
A feed embed shows new posts automatically. A built site is your own copy: you decide what to add, and with WIPE you can add new work by uploading it or asking the assistant.
Is the site good for Google?
Check that it has page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data. WIPE sites have all four, and can be connected to Google Search Console in one step.
